Classic. They have been members of the HOG chapter since 2005. Gene is
currently one of our Road Captains.  Gene first started riding motorcycles
when he was 18 years old. Back in 1976, Gene got his first bike…. a Honda
CJ360. Through the years Gene has owned different brands of motorcycles
and now loves riding on his own HOG.  Most of Gene’s riding time gets done
on his ride to and from work.  

Gene and Tammy often take off on the bike on the spur of the moment to
destinations unknown.  They have been to Gettysburg and Carlisle on the
bike and have enjoyed visiting places with the Hog Chapter.  The first trip
they took with the Chapter was to Yuengling’s Beer Factory & Cabela’s. They
enjoyed this overnight trip with Bob & Tammy Calkins and Rich & Sue
Borden.  However, they did not enjoy the ride home in the pouring rain!

Gene and Tammy enjoy spending time and riding with the friends they have
made through the Chapter.  They can both often be found volunteering at the
Registration table at the Poker Run and other events as they are able.  They
are an awesome addition to the Chapter. Someday they would love to ride to
Florida, Sturgis, SD and tour the United States.  

Gene didn’t offer up any trip tales…so, Tammy wanted to add this story about
one of their days on the bike………”When Gene and I were dating, we went
out for a ride on this back road and a guy was backing up his camper. He
didn't see us and Gene had to go off the road to avoid getting hit by him. We
ended up wrecking the bike. Gene grabbed my leg so I wouldn't get hurt and
he ended up burning his leg. But we were able to pick the bike up and ride
home. My parents didn't want me to ride the bike with him ever again. But
here we are still riding together.”   I guess we don’t always listen when it
comes to our parents not wanting us to ride motorcycles!----and it’s a good
thing that Gene & Tammy didn’t listen this one time long ago too!  Look at all
the fun we would be missing together!
