      #2094       MANSFIELD, PA.

HOG MEMBER OF THE MONTH
"July"

Dr. Nathan Rinnert

Nathan Rinnert is a relatively new member of the Club, but he is no newbie to Motorcycle riding!
Nate can be found at a Card Stop and on many of the rides that we take as a Chapter. Nate has
taken the Chapter to new heights!  If you have ever stood beside Nate you know exactly what I mean.
Nate currently rides a '96 Ultra Classic that he bought from Cox's in April of '09.  He enjoys riding with
his brand new wife Christina  (Chris)  Stopka Rinnert!   (Their Wedding was held on June 26 , 2010 -
aboard the 65-foot Esperanza Rose on Keuka Lake, NY.)
Nate & Chris met on-line in November 2004 - chatted for a few months, never met in person,  and
slowly lost contact,   reconnected on-line in December 2008.  Met in person January 8, 2009.  The
rest, as they say, is history.
Get to know Chris: I have two children - Ben, 14 years old & Chloe, 11.  I currently live in
Hammondsport, NY on the family farm.  I graduated from Hammondsport HS, served in the US
Marines, and have had a variety of jobs over the years.  I currently work as an administrative
assistant at the VA Medical Center in Bath, NY.  I am also a full-time student pursuing a degree in
English at Mansfield University.  I come from a family of motorcycle riders, but have been exclusively
a passenger.  My father has ridden a variety of bikes over the years, mostly Goldwing's.  In fact, my
mother bought herself a Suzuki Burgman 650 just last year. I am planning to take the motorcycle
safety course to investigate my desire to become an independent rider.
Get to know Nate: My first motorcycle was a Suzuki TM75 that I got for my 9th birthday.  My father
believed that wrecking in the dirt would keep me from wanting to ride street bikes.  Instead, I really
fell in love with the machinery.  I've owned Japanese (1987 Kawasaki KZ1000 Police Bike), British
(1967 Triumph Bonneville 650) , and American (Custom V-twin Bobber) bikes in the past - many of
them - but this is my first H-D.  I love the H-D products and, I have to admit, I love the H-D image.
I grew up in Longmont, Colorado - went to the Univ of Kansas, Auburn University, and the University
of Miami.  I've lived all over the US and abroad, working as  a music teacher and professional
musician (trombone & tuba).  I came to this area (I live outside of Wellsboro) for the opportunity to
teach music at Mansfield University.  The music department at MU is fantastic - a real gem here in
rural PA!
I joined the Endless Mountains HOG Chapter in November of 2009.  I've always been a solo rider,
and was a bit apprehensive about joining up with a bunch of motorcycle enthusiasts.  I went to my
first meeting really by accident - showed up for a invitation-only sale at the dealership and somehow
found my way into the meeting room.  This group has proven to be a great find for Chris and I!  A
bunch of truly fantastic folks with that one common thread - riding H-D's.  Many of the people in this
group I wouldn't have probably ever met, as we don't associate in similar circles outside of the HOG
chapter.  Truly a blessing!
I purchased the Ultra to see if I liked the touring setup.  Love it!  I just got back from Milwaukee with
the Chapter - my first long ride.   It was truly an initiation into the Endless Mts HOG Chapter.   Rain,
followed by rain, followed by rain. So it can only get better, right? Can’t wait for the day when Chris is
able to go along on a long excursion.
